Slope Firelocks: Used when marching to avoid low hanging limbs and tree branches from entangling the muskets.
Never used with bayonets and naturally used with great caution to avoid injury in the rear ranks.
Trail Firelocks: Used when on the move in most light infantry movements, and occassionally when marching in columns.
The musket is gripped just below the swell of the stock with the barrel up and is hung naturally on the right side of the body.
